walnuts, chopped fine

Preheat oven to 400. Prepare a 9" x 13" pan with cooking spray; set aside. To prepare base, combine flour, sugar, walnuts, salt, baking soda, and margarine. Mix until crumbly. Press three cups mixture into prepared pan; set remaining aside. Bake for ten minutes. Spread fig filling evenly over top. Sprinkle reserved crumb topping on top. Bake for 20 minutes, or until edges are browned.
