margarine, softened

granulated sugar

egg

1/2 cup
molasses

2 cups
unbleached flour

baking soda

1/2 tsp
cinnamon

1/2 tsp
ginger

1/4 tsp
salt

4 ozs
dried figs, chopped

walnuts, chopped
In a mixing bowl, combine margarine and sugar. Mix until creamy. Add egg and molasses. Mix well. In another mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, salt, figs, and nuts. Add to wet ingredients. Mix until all is combined. Chill for several hours, or until firm. Preheat oven to Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for ten minutes, or until lightly browned on bottom.
