carrots, sliced

poultry seasoning

black pepper
In a large skillet, add chicken breasts, mushrooms, and onions. Cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until chicken is browned (seven minutes) and vegetables are tender; set aside. Add barley, carrots, celery, chicken broth, poultry seasoning, salt, and black pepper in a 5-quart slow cooker. Mix well. Place chicken breasts mixture onto barley mixture. Cover and cook on low for five hours or until chicken is cooked through.
