In a large skillet, cook chicken,onions, and bell peppers until chicken is no longer pink. Meanwhile, to prepare sauce, combine water, tomato paste, one teaspoon oregano, pizza seasoning, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper in a medium saucepan. Mix well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer ten minutes. Spray 3 1/2-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Spoon chicken mixture into slow cooker. Add sauce, pepperoni, basil and remaining oregano. Cover and cook on low setting for five hours. To assemble sandwiches, spoon about 1/3 cup chicken mixture onto bottom halves of buns. Top each with scant 2 tablespoons cheese. Cover with top halves of buns.
