Crust:

2 cups
unbleached flour

granulated sugar

1/4 cup
pecans, chopped fine

margarine, melted

egg

1 tsp
pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350. Prepare a 9" square dish with cooking spray; set aside. To prepare crust, combine flour, sugar, and pecans. Mix well. Add margarine, egg, and vanilla extract until crumbly; set aside one cup for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture onto bottom of prepared dish. Spread fig filling evenly over top. For easier spreading, place filling into microwave for a few seconds until warmed. Bake bars for 40 minutes, or until lightly browned.
