In large skillet, cook chicken and onions until chicken is no longer pink. Transfer the mixture to a 5-quart slow cooker. Stir beans, water, chicken broth, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, or until heated through. Stir in pasta and cook for one more hour or until pasta is cooked.
