Granny Smith apples, chopped and peeled

margarine, cubed

fat-free milk

granulated sugar

cornstarch

water, boiling
Preheat oven to 350. Prepare a 9"x13" pan with cooking spray. Place apples evenly onto bottom of pan; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, one cup sugar, baking powder, apple pie spice, and salt. Mix well. Cut in margarine with a pastry cutter until crumbly. Add milk. Spoon over apples in pan. In a smaller bowl, combine remaining sugar and cornstarch. Sprinkle evenly over batter. Pour boiling water evenly over top. Bake for one hour or until top is browned.
