molasses

Preheat oven to 375. Prepare a baking sheet with cooking spray; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine one cup sugar, oil, molasses, egg, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. Mix until smooth. Divide dough in half. Wrap one dough and chill while baking the first half. Shape into two strips, each about 15"x3". Place three inches apart on baking sheet. Sprinkle each strip with one tablespoon of the remaining sugar. Bake for seven minutes, or until light brown. Cut each strip crosswise into one inch slices; remove from baking sheet to cooling rack. Repeat with remaining dough. Notes: Serve with Gingerbread Dip.
