water
-
1 c
egg whites
-
16 ozs
vanilla frosting

1 tsp
orange paste icing color

1 tsp

Preheat oven to 350. Prepare two 9" round cake pans with cooking spray and flour; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mixes, water, and egg whites. Mix until moistened. Pour batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 60 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool in pans ten minutes. Invert cakes on to wire rack to cool completely. Place one cake layer on serving plate. Tuck strips of waxed paper under edges to keep plate free from frosting. Remove 1/4 cup frosting from container; reserve for spiderweb design. In a mixing bowl, combine remaining frosting and orange paste. Mix until the desired shade of orange. Spread cake layer with 1/3 cup, cover with second cake layer and frost all sides with remaining frosting. Pull out waxed paper. To make spiderweb design, stir black paste into reserved frosting. Scrape into a sandwich-size bag. Snip off a corner and squeeze frosting in a web design on top and sides of cake. Pipe a spider or two onto web.
